Question :-

  • a number is increased by 30% and then it is decreased by 30% find the net increase or decrease percent.

Concept :-

  • First, we will take the number as 10

  • Second, where will I find the increased percentage of 10 and decrease percentage of 10.

  • Third, we will add the increase percentage and was subtracted decrease percentage from 10.

Solution :-

First, we will find the increased percentage of 10.

= 30% of 10

= 30/100 × 10

= 30/10

= 3

Now, we will add 3 with 10 to get the increased percentage.

= 10 + 3

= 13

Therefore, the percentage increase of 10 is 13.

Second, we will find the decreased percentage of 10.

= 30% of 10

= 30/100 × 10

= 30/10

= 3

Now, we will subtracted from 10 to get the decrease percentage.

= 10 - 3

= 7

Therefore, dead decreased percentage of 10 is 7.
