Heya !!!
Let the number be X.
Reciprocal of number X = 1/X
According to question,
2×1/X + 1 = X
2/X + 1 = X
2 + X = X²
X²-X - 2 = 0
X²-2X + X - 2 = 0
X ( X - 2) + 1 ( X - 2) = 0
(X-2) ( X +1) = 0
(X-2) = 0 OR (X+1) = 0
X = 2 OR X = -1
Hence,
Number can be -1 and 2.
