Heya !!!

Let the number be X.

Reciprocal of number X = 1/X

According to question,

2×1/X + 1 = X

2/X + 1 = X

2 + X = X²

X²-X - 2 = 0

X²-2X + X - 2 = 0

X ( X - 2) + 1 ( X - 2) = 0

(X-2) ( X +1) = 0

(X-2) = 0 OR (X+1) = 0

X = 2 OR X = -1

Hence,

Number can be -1 and 2.

Let the number be x,

According to the question :

x = (2 \times  \frac{1}{x} ) + 1 \\  \\ x =  \frac{2}{x}  + 1 \\  \\ x =  \frac{2 + x}{x}  \\  \\  {x}^{2}  - x - 2 = 0 \\  \\  {x}^{2}  - 2x + x - 2 = 0 \\  \\ x(x - 2) + (x - 2) = 0 \\  \\ (x - 2)(x + 1)  = 0 \\  \\ x = 2 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: or \:  \:  x =  - 1

Required number is 2 or -1

I hope this will help you
