We have to divide it as given, 2:3:4
2:3:4 can be also be 2y:3y:4y
As given second share is 12 means 3y=12
So from here we will get, 3y=12
y=4
So from here we will get all the three share which are:-
2y=2 x 4=8
3y=3 x 4=12
4y=4 x 4=16
As we divided x into 2y:3y:4y
So 2y+3y+4y will be equal to x.
Hence, x=2y+3y+4y
=8+12+16=36
