Questions

A number is two more than the other number . IF their sum is 14, find the number

solution

You can call the first number X

so according to questions

X + (X+2) = 8

therefore

2X + 2 = 14

2X = 12

X = 6

since the first number is 6 .

and the second number is two more than that, 6+2 = 8

so the second number is 8

Answer:

let other no. be X

then , first no.(acc. to question) be X + 2

According to question,

X +(X+2) = 14

X + X + 2 = 14

2X +2 = 14

2X = 14 - 2

2X = 12

X = 12/2

X = 6

first no. is X+2 = 6+2 = 8

and second no is 6
