5

Step-by-step explanation:

let the number be x

Since dividing the number give remainder 5 , x can be written in 14×y+5

  • where y will be quotient of dividing X by 14
  • X = 14×y+5
  • X = 2×7×y+5
  • Let divide both side by 7 then remainder when x is divide by 7
  • X/7 = (2×7×y)/7+5/7
  • x/7 = 2×y+5/7
  • Since y is a whole number quotient of thus 2×y will be also be a whole number and remain 5/7
  • thus remainder 5 when x is divide by 7
  • thank you
