Range of a bullet is R = u² sin2Ф / g
The range is the radius of circular region, along the circumference of which the bullets will land.
SO area covered : 2 π R.     This is maximum for a given  velocity/speed when sin 2Ф = 1.

So  area = π (u²/g)²
