The value of static friction is 3.75

Explanation:

Fs(max) = μs η

Fs = force of static friction

μs = coefficient of static friction

η = normal force (Greek letter "eta")

Fs(max) = maximum force of static friction

Solution:

Fs(max) = μs mg

μs = Fs(max)/mg

μs  = 15/(0.4)(10)

μs = 15/3.92

μs = 3.75

Hence the value of static friction is 3.75
