Division rule: Dividend = divisor × quotient + Remainder

Define x:

Let the number be x

Form equation and solve for x:

Given that the divisor is 53, the quotient is 34 and the remainder is 21

x = 53 x 34 + 21

x = 1802 + 21

x = 1823

Answer: The number is 1823

Given :

Divisor = 53

Quotient = 34

Remember = 21

Finding the Dividend -

Dividend = Divisor x Quotient + Remainder

putting the values

Dividend = 53 x 34 + 21

= 1802 + 21

= 1823.

Hence , Dividend = 1823.
