The number is 1944.

Given: A number when divided by 9 gives the perfect cube of 6 and when multiplied by 3 gives another perfect cube of 18.

To Find: The number.

Solution:

Let the number be 'x'.

It is said that the number when divided by 9 gives the perfect cube of 6, so we can say that,

    x/9 = 6³

⇒ x  = 6 × 6 × 6 × 9

⇒ x = 1944

It is again said that the number when multiplied by 3 gives another perfect cube of 18, so we can say that,

    3x = 18³

⇒  x = ( 18 × 18 × 18 ) / 3

       = 5832 / 3

       = 1944

Hence, the number is 1944.
