a number when multiplied by 4 exceeds itself by 45. find the number.

x*n=n+45
4n - n = 45

3n = 45

n = 45/3 = 15.

Since the number is 15, when multiplied by 4 it is equal to 15 x 4 = 60, wchich is 45 more than the original no.
