Let the number be X
then 4x
according to question
4x=36
x=36/4
x=9

asmishah143: No this is not right according to me
vishalkumar51: it's ok friend
asmishah143: Let the no. be X So acc to the question 4x=x+36 It implies x=(x+36)÷4 I.e. x/4 +9 =x I.e. x-x/4=9 I.e. (4x-x)/4=9 I.e 3x=4×9 I.e 3x=36 so x=12
