▪︎ Given:-

 • A number x is choosen from the numbers -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4.

▪︎ To Find:-

 • The probability that x < 4.

▪︎ Now,

• Let us first find out the numbers which are laess then 4 (i.e. favourable outcomes) = -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3.

• So the number of numbers which are less than 4 (i.e. number of favourable outcomes) = 8.

▪︎ Also,

• Total number of numbers (i.e. total number of outcomes) = 9.

▪︎ Therefore,

\small\tt\leadsto P(of\: that \:x<4) = \frac{no. \:of \:favourable \:outcomes}{Total \:no. \:of \:outcomes} \\ \\ \tt\leadsto P(of\:that\:x<4) = \frac{8}{9}.

\therefore Probability that number x is less than 4 = 8/9.
