A number X is selected at random from the numbers 1,2,3,4 . Another number Y is selected at random from the numbers 1,4,9,16 . Find the probability that the value of X and Y is less than 25 .

The value of X and Y cannot be 25

because

X belongs to {1,2,3,4). &

Y belongs to {1,4,9,16}

so the probability of getting the value of

X or Y =25 is. 0
