A nut becomes loose and gets detached from a satellite revolving around the earth. Will it land on the earth? If yes, where will it land? If no, how can an astronaut make it land on the earth?

Explanation:

  • (a)  Of course not.  The nut cannot land on the earth as it is detached from the satellite by becoming loose and not ejected with force.
  • (b)  If yes and suppose the nut has reached the earth’s orbit, it can land anywhere on the earth due to strong gravitational force and had no chance to catch fire as the nut has not enough mass to create friction due to air pressure.
  • (c)  The astronaut can make it to land on the earth only by pushing the nut with force from the satellite.
