Torque when 80 Newton was applied = 80$ Newton $\times$ $0.5$ m $=$ $80\times0.5$ N.m $= 40$ N.m$

35\times x=35x = 40\\\implies 35x = 40\\\implies x=\frac{40}{35}=\frac{8}{7}=1.143$ m$
