A object 5 cm in length is placed at a distance of 10cm from a convex mirror of radius of curvature 15 cm find the nature position and size of image

u = -10cm

h = 5cm

R = 15cm

f = R/2 = 15/2 = 7.5cm

Nature of Image = ?

v = ?

m = ?

Now,

By mirror formula --

1/f = 1/v + 1/u

1/7.5 = 1/v + 1/-10

1/v = 1/7.5 - 1/-10

1/v = 10/75 + 1/10

1/v = 7/30

v = 30/7

v = 4.28 cm

Position of the Image is at 4.28 cm behind the mirror

Now ,

By magnification formula

m = -v/u = h'/h

-4.28/-10 = h'/5

h' = 0.428/5

h' = 0.08 cm

Size of the Image is 0.08 cm

Then ,

m = -v/u

m = -4.28/-10

m = 0.428

Magnification of Image is 0.428

So, From these all observations

Nature -> Virtual or Erect and Diminished

Position -> 4.28cm

Size -> 0.08cm
