medium A is rarer as the speed of light is same as that of air
medium B is denser as the speed of light has decreased.
It will matter because as the light ray is traveling from rarer to denser medium the ray will bend towards the normal... hence the direction will slightly be changed. As yhe ray is deflected from its normal path.
