Solution :-

we know that,

  • When two parallel lines are intersected by a transversal , the exterior angles on the same side of the transversal are supplementry . (sum is equal to 180°.)

from image we can see that, 2 pair of exterior angles on the same side of the transversal are :-

  • ∠1 = ∠7
  • ∠2 = ∠8

now, given that,

→ One of the exterior angles on the same side of the transversal measure = 64° = say ∠1 is equal to 64° .

then,

→ ∠1 + ∠7 = 180° { exterior angles are supplementry .}

→ 64° + ∠7 = 180°

→ ∠7 = 180° - 64°

→ ∠7 = 116° (Ans.)

also,

→ ∠1 + ∠2 = 180° { Linear pair .}

→ 64° + ∠2 = 180°

→ ∠2 = 116°

then,

→ ∠8 = 64° .
