a) 550 can be divided to 11. 300/550 is equal with 6/11 which is about 55% of the population.

b) 12,000 can be divided to 24 and 1/24 of that is 500. 12,000-10,500 = 21/24=> 0.875% of Shankars salary.

If Shankars salary fall with 1,500 which is 3/24 if is salary 0.125 or 12.5% of his salary, then Shankar have no more money after that all expendtures is paid.
