if one packet contains 12218 paper clips,

9 packets would contain=

9× 12218= 109962 paper clips

hence, the actual number of paper clips would be 109962.

now,

the approximate number of paper clips could be 109900 and above

If the packet contains 12218 paper clips then no of paper clips in 9 such packets will be,

=>9×12218

now,

Actual number of paper clips bought will be 109962

we can solve it using,

=>12218×(10-1)

=>122180-12218

=> 109962

Approximate number of paper clips will be

let approx 12200 clips are there in a pack. then total number of clips will be

12200×9

=> 109800
