Given : A paint roller is cylindrical in shape. it has a diameter of 6.2 cm and a width of 39.6 cm.

To find : The area painted by the roller when it makes one revolution.

solution : The area painted by the roller when it makes one revolution = surface area of cylindrical roller

= 2πrl

= 2 × 3.14 × (6.2cm/2) × (39.6 cm)

= 6.28 × 3.1 × 39.6 cm²

= 770.9328 cm² ≈ 770.93 cm²

Therefore The area painted by the roller when it makes one revolution is 770.93 cm²
