a painter painted 240sq feet of a wall if this is 48%of the total wall surface what is the area of the wallin sq feet......... urgent.............answer in detail.................. plzzzzxxzz

Let x be the total area of the wall.

Given that 48% of x = 240sq.feet

                  48/100 * x = 240

                  48 * x = 240 * 100

                  48x = 24000

                     x = 24000/48

                     x = 500.


Therefore the area of the wall = 500sq.feet.
