Area of rectangle = l × b

= 15×12 = 180cm²

Margin of 1.5 is drawn along the sides

Length= 15-1.5 = 13.5 cm

Breadth = 12-1.5= 10.5 cm

Area of rectangle = l×b

= 141.75 cm²

Area pf space between canvas n margin = area of rectangle - area of square

= 180-141.75

= 38.25 cm²
