                                       THE CROW AND THE SNAKE

Once upon a time, there was a huge banyan tree, by the side of a river. A pair of crows lived in the tree. There was a hole  at the bottom of the tree, in which lived, a very bad snake.

The mother crow laid four eggs, which hatched into four young chicks. The parents were very happy. One day when the parent crows were away looking for food, the evil snake climbed the tree and ate the four young crows. The parents returned home and became heart broken, when they learnt the fate of their young ones. Both the crows were sad and angry. The father crow thought of a plan, to get rid of the snake.

One day, the Prince came to the river, to have a bath. He left his diamond ornaments on the banks of the river. The clever father crow, stole the ring and flew away. The prince's guard, saw the crow stealing the ring and ran after it. The crow dropped the ring, in the snake's hole. The guards break the hole and when they see the snake near the ring, they kill it. So the crow and its family lived happily thereafter.
