Check this out..

6*6=36

Hence probabilities are, 2, 4 and 6

When two die are thrown and they ask about the first die only then the second die exits the picture.
Therefore, P(Even number on first die) = 3/6 = 1/2 
Since possibilities are only 2, 4 and 6.
