Answer :-

The angles are 72° and 108°.

Step-by-step explanation:

To Find :-

  • The angles

Solution

Given that,

  • A pair of supplementary angles are in the ratio of 2:3

Assumption

Let us assume the ratio angles as (2x)° and (3x)°,

We know,

Sum of two angles which measures 180° is called supplementary angle.

  • Supplementary angles = 180°

∴ (2x)° + (3x)° = 180°

2x + 3x = 180

5x = 180

x = 180/5

x = 36

We got, The value of x as 36.

The angles are :-

  • 2x = 2*36 = 72°
  • 3x = 3*26 = 108°

Hence, The angles are 72° and 108°.

V E R I F I C A T I O N :-

  • 2x + 3x = 180

By putting the value of 2x and 3x in L.H.S :-

2x + 3x

72 + 108

180

Now, L.H.S = R.H.S = 180

Hence, Verified!
