solid is define as property of substance in which some structures consists of atoms which are tightly bound to each other with regular geometry i.e crystalline state which makes the rigid and their shape cannot be remolded. while the other type of solid with irregular arrangement of atoms in all directions makes them elastic i.e they can be given different shapes and the positions of atoms can be freely changed such solids are called amorphous solids. that is why paper being a solid can change its shape due to each movement of atoms within a structure.
