Given : a paper has dimensions of 12 inches by 9 inches
To Find : what is the minimum number of square all having the same dimensions that can be cut out from the paper with minimum wastage
Solution:
To find minimum number square we need to find maximum side of square
Let say say side of Square is X inch
then XA = 12
XB = 9
=> X is the HCF of 12 and 9 for to be largest
12 = 2 * 2 * 3
9 = 3 * 3
HCF = 3
X = 3
Square Size = 3 x 3
Number of Squares = 9 * 12 / (3 * 3) = 3 * 4 = 12 Square
