Length of paper = 70 cm

Width of paper = 50 cm

∴ Area of paper = Length × Width = 70 × 50 = 3500 cm²

Rahul has to cut square slips.

⇒ Length = Width → of each paper slip.

Side of each paper slip = 14 cm

∴ Area of each paper slip = 14 × 14 = 196 cm²

Number of paper slips = \dfrac{Area \: of \: total \: paper}{Area \: of \: each \: paper \: slip}

Number of paper slips = \dfrac{3500}{196}  = 17.86

Answer:

Rahul can cut around 17 paper slips.

Additional Information:

1. Area of a Rectangle = Length × Width

2. Area of a Square = Side × Side = (Side)²
