Given, Diameter BC= 14cm
Radius will be d/2 = 7cm.
We know that Area of semi-circle = 1/2 * (Area of circle) --------------------- (1)
Area of circle = 7 * 7 * 22/7
= 154 cm^2 --------------------(2)
Substitute (2) in (1), we get
Area of semicircle = 1/2 * 154
= 77cm^2
Given, Area of the paper = 18cm = 18 * 14
= 252.
Area of the remaining paper = 252 - 77cm^2
= 175cm^2.
Hope this helps!
