Success changes people.
Firstly, not all changes are bad, one can change for the better or for the worse. Success cannot be quantified and hence, it cannot be measured. However, we do say that some people are successful while others are not. Success is in all probability a feeling of goodness that springs from deep within, it is an acknowledgement of the good work that we have done. In this case, success changes people in a good way. But there are some who take their success to seriously and become overconfident, their changed demeanor is reflected in their bluster. What is important to note here is that anything good that happens to us or which we work hard for, should also make us better people. We all need help from the people around us, for whatever kind of support, moral, emotional, financial, it is absolutely necessary that we acknowledge those whose help we have taken. Success does not come easily and when it does come, it should not be taken for granted. Failure is guaranteed in life quite often but success is hard to find. At school, success can be measured in terms of the good opinion that your teachers have about you and not simply the high marks you get. If your friends think of you as a good person they can always trust, it says more about you than the marks on your report card. One must work very hard and then they will not need to measure success because it will come to them in leaps and bounds and defy all measuring tools. At home, success is measured in terms of the way in which your parents think about you, if your siblings look up to you and how much you are a part of the family, how much you do for them without latching expectations of returns. At work, success is in seen in terms of the output you produce but also in terms of what your colleagues and your seniors think about you. Your sincerity and diligence should speak for themselves. It is what we are good at and do to the best of our capabilities that should define us, not fake bluster or overconfidence.
