Given :

Radius of plate , r = 2 cm .

Distance between the plates , d = 0.1\ mm = 10^{-4}\ m .

Variation of voltage , \dfrac{dE}{dt}=5\times 10^{13}\ V/s .

To Find :

The value of displacement current .

Solution :

Area if circular plate is given by :

A=\pi r^2=\pi\times 0.02^2\\\\A=1.25\times 10^{-3}\ m^2

We know , displacement current is given by :

I_d=\epsilon_oA\dfrac{dE}{dt}

Putting all values in above equation :

We get :

I_d=8.85\times 10^{-12}\times 1.25\times 10^{-3}\times 5\times 10^{13}\\\\I_d=0.55\ A

Therefore , the value of displacement current is 0.55 A .
