C= capacitance for parallel plate capacitor
d= separation between the plates
V= Potential diff. between the pates
We know, C= ε₀A/d------- (1)
If q be the charge stored in the plates,
C= q/V
The force with which the plates attracts each other F =q.t
or F= q. (q/2ε₀A)
= q²/2ε₀A
But we know, q=Cv
So, F= C²v²/2ε₀A -------(2)
Frrom equation (1) we can replace ε₀A by Cd
Therefore (2)=> F =Cv²/2Cd
