Given :

A = 1.5m²

d₁ = 1mm          K₁ = 2

d₂ = 1.6mm      K₂ = 4

d₃ = 2mm        K₃ = 5

To find :

The capacitance of the capacitor C

Solution :

C = ∈₀A / [(d₁/K₁) + (d₂/K₂) + (d₃/K₃)]

C = (8.84 × 10⁻¹² × 1.5) / [(1 × 10⁻³ / 2) + (1.6 × 10⁻³ / 4) + (2 × 10⁻³ / 5)]

C = (8.84 × 10⁻¹² × 1.5) / 10⁻³[(1 / 2) + (1.6 / 4) + (2 / 5)]

C = (8.84 × 10⁻⁹ × 1.5) / [(1 / 2) + (1.6 / 4) + (2 / 5)]

C = (13.26 × 10⁻⁹) / [0.5 + 0.4 + 0.4]

C = 13.26 × 10⁻⁹ / 1.3

C = 10.2 × 10⁻⁹ F = 10.2 nF

The capacitance of the capacitor is 10.2 nF .
