A parallel plate capacitor has two parallel metal plates of area 800

cm2 and placed at distance of 8 mm. It is charged to a potential

difference of 2400 V by a power supply. It is then disconnected from a

power supply and space between plates is completely filled with

dielectric material. Then its potential difference is decreased to

1200 V. Then calculate

i) original capacitance ii) charge on each plate

iii) capacitance after space is filled with dielectric

iv) dielectric constant of dielectric medium
