We know energy stored in a capacitor is
U=1/2CV^2------(1)
On putting the value of C, we have
U=1/2(ε0A/x)V^2--------(2) Now rate of change of electrostatic energy will be given by-dU/dt=1/2ε0AV^2(−1/x2 dx/dt)--------(3)So, from equation 3 we can see that-
dU/dt ∝ x^−2
