Given that,

Capacitor = 10μf

Suppose,  two media having dielectric constant k₁ =2 and k₂ = 4 The capacitance will now be :

We know that,

Capacitor is

C = \dfrac{\epsilon_{0}A}{d}=10\ \mu f

Now two capacitors C₁ and C₂  connected in parallel

Then the capacitance of each part is

For first plate,

C_{1}=\dfrac{k_{1}\epsilon_{0}A_{1}}{d}

For second plate,

C_{2}=\dfrac{k_{2}\epsilon_{0}A_{2}}{d}

We need to calculate the equivalent capacitor

Using formula of parallel

C=C_{1}+C_{2}

Put the value into the formula

C=\dfrac{k_{1}\epsilon_{0}A_{1}}{d}+\dfrac{k_{2}\epsilon_{0}A_{2}}{d}

Here, Area is

A_{1}=A_{2}=\dfrac{A}{2}

C=(K_{1}+k_{2})(\dfrac{\epsilon_{0}A}{2d})

Put the value into the formula

C=(2+4)\dfrac{10}{2}

C=30\ \mu f

Hence, The equivalent capacitor is 30 μf.
