area of parallelogram ABCD is base × height. here base BC is given 9 cm and corresponding height is 8 cm so the area will be 72 cm square. Also the area of parallelogram ABCD will be AB ×DE (corresponding height) . so 72 = 12 ×DE and DE = 6 cm
