average velocity = total displacement/total time taken

S1= velocity ×time

= 15×2(east)

=30î

S2= 5×8(north)

=40j^

S1+S2=30î+40j

=50m

time taken=8+2=10secs

Vav=50/10

=5m/s

hope it helps!
