Formula to calculate area of rectangle :-

• Area of rectangle = l × b

where,

• l = length
• b = breadth

Understanding the question :-

To find the cost of graveling the path, firstly we will find the area of the path. For that :-

• We will find the area of the park.
• Then add (8 + 8) m to the dimensions of the park, the resultant values will be the dimensions of the park including the path.
• From that find the area of the park including the path by using the formula of area of rectangle.
• Subtract area of the park from the area of the park including the path, the resultant value will be the area of the path.

• Multiply the area of park by the rate of graveling the path. That will be the required answer.
