Area of park = 50x60=3000

Area of park including the path = 80x70=5600

Area of path = 5600-3000 = 2600

Hope it helps

Answer :-

  • The area of the path is 1500m².

Step-by-step explanation ::

To Find :-

  • The area of path

Given that,

  • Length of the park = 80m
  • Breadth of the park = 60m
  • A path 5m wide is to be built outside and around it.

Figure,

  • Refer the attachment.

Solution:

As we know that,

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth,

Area of the park = length × breadth

= ( 80 × 60 )m²

= 4800m²

  • The area of park is 4800m².

Length of park including the path

= [ 80 + ( 5 + 5 ) ]

= 80 + 10

= 90m

Breadth of park including the path

= [ 60 + ( 5 + 5 ) ]

= 60 + 10

= 70m

Now, area of park including the path,

= Length × Breadth

= ( 90 × 70 )m²

= 6300m²

According the question,

The area of path is,

= ( 6300 - 4800 )m²

= 1500m²

  • The area of the path is 1500m².
