A parking meter contains $63.75 in quarters and loonies. If there are 114 coins in the meter, how many quarters are there?

Amount is .25x + 114 - x = 63.75

Combine like terms 114-0.75x = 63.75

Subtract 114 from each side to get -0.75x = -50.25
