A part of monthly hostel charge is fixed and the remaining depends on the number of days one has taken food in the mess when Swathi text food for 20 days she has to pay rupees 3000 as hostel charges where is Mansi who takes food for 25 days rs 3500 as hostel charges find the charges and the cost of food per day

Let fixed charges be=Rs x
And remaining charges be=Rs y

According to question...

x+20y=3000
x+25y=3500

So..subtracting them we get..

-5y= -500
y=100

So..x will be equal to 1000

Cost of food per day=100
Cost of hostel charges=1000
