Answer:

Newton's first law which says that a body continues to move uniformly in absence of an external force looks contradictory in our real life when any moving object comes to rest even when we do not apply any external force like when we throw a tennis ball it eventually comes to rest even if we do not apply any force to stop it.

Well, It seem to be contradicting the 1st law of motion but it isn't really the case because here it's motion is being opposed by the friction between the tennis ball and the ground as well as the air resistance.
