Answer :-

Distance = 15 π r / 2

Displacement = √ 2 r

Explanation :-

Distance covered by the particle in 15 / 4 rounds -

Distance = 15 / 4 × 2πr

= 15 π r / 2

After first 3 complete rounds, particle returns at its original position. In next 3 / 4 revolutions, particle is at radius perpendicular to original position.

Displacement = √(r^2 + r^2)

= √(2r^2)

= √2 r

Given: radius of track=r

Rounds completed=15/4

One round= 2πr

Therefore, 15/4 rounds =(15/4)*2πr =(7/2)πr

Therefore ,total distance =(3.5)πr units.

And displacement =πr units. (in complete rounds displacement will be zero, so of 3.5 rounds only half round constitutes displacement)
