Given : a particle covers 10m in first 5s and 10 m in next 3s .

assuming constant acceleration.

To Find :   initial speed,

acceleration

distance covered in next 2second

Solution:

initial speed = u

acceleration   = a

S = distance covered

t = time

S = ut + (1/2)at²

=> 10  = 5u  + (1/2)a5²

=> 2 = u  + 2.5a

=> 4 = 2u + 5a

Distance covered in 5 + 3 = 8 sec  is 10 + 10 = 20 m

=> 20  = 8u + (1/2)a8²

=> 5 =  2u  + 8a

=> 3a = 1  => a = 1/3

5 = 2u  + 8a

=> 5 = 2u + 8/3

=> 2u  = 7/3

=> u = 7/6

initial speed = 7/6  m/s

acceleration   = 1/3  m/s²

Distance covered in next 2 secs = Distance covered in 10sec - 20 m

10u + (1/2)a10²  - 20

= 10 (7/6) + 50(1/3) - 20

=(70 + 100 - 120)/6

= 50/6  m

= 25/3 m

distance covered in next 2second = 25/3  m
