Given :

Distance covered by the particle = 150m.

Initial velocity, u = zero.

Particular time, n = 8

To find :

The accerlation of the particle.

Solution :

Acceleration is measured as the rate of change of velocity.

It is a vector quantity having both magnitude and direction

using equation of motion .i.e.,

  • s = u + 1/2a(2n - 1)

here,

s denotes distance

u denotes initial velocity

n denotes particular second.

substituting all the given values,

{ \leadsto{ \sf{s = u +  \dfrac{1}{2} a(2n - 1)}}}

{ \leadsto{ \sf{150 = 0 +  \dfrac{1}{2} a(2 \times 8 - 1)}}}

{ \leadsto{ \sf{150 =  \dfrac{1}{2} a(15)}}}

{ \leadsto{ \sf{ \dfrac{150}{15}  =  \dfrac{1}{2} a}}}

{ \leadsto{ \sf{10 \times 2 =   a}}}

{ \leadsto{ \sf{   a = 20 {ms}^{ - 2} }}}

thus, the accerlation of the particle is 20m/s².

Remember !

SI unit of accerlation is m/s²
