a particle in a certain conservative force field has a potential energy given by U=20xy/z the force exerted on it is...

solution : concept : rate of change of potential energy of an object with respect to its position gives force applied on that object.

i.e., F = dU/dr

here it is given that, U = 20xy/z

from partial derivatives ,

F = dU/dx i + dU/dy j + dU/dz k

dU/dx = (20y/z) dx/dx = (20y/z)

dU/dy = (20x/z) dy/dy = (20x/z)

dU/dz = (20xy) d(1/z)/dz = -(20xy/z²)

hence, F = (20y/z) i + (20x/z) j - (20xy/z²) k
