A particle is attached to an extended spring attached to a ceiling and released. The tension in the spring ‘T’ (measured in Newtons), can be modelled by a quadratic equation in ‘x’. ‘x’ is the displacement of the particle (in millimetres) from a fixed point where the spring is attached to the ceiling.

When the tension in the spring reaches its maximum of 32 Newtons the value of x is 12mm. When the displacement of the particle is 8mm the tension in the spring is 0 Newtons.

Using this model, suggest a quadratic equation that will model this situation in the form T = ax2 + bx + c, where a,b and c are integers to be found.
