Answer:
If a particle is executing a circular motion of radius R with a uniform speed V. After completing half the circle, the change in its velocity and speed will be 2V, Zero respectively.
Given:
- Radius = R
- Uniform Speed = V
To Find :
- After completing the half circle, the change in its velocity =?
- Change in speed =?
Solution :
Let Vi be the initial velocity and Vf be the velocity after half the circle.
∆V = Vf - Vi
= Vi - Vi
= 2Vi
Change in velocity=
= 0
- The change in speed will be zero. Because the particle is opposed diametrically and its speed is the same as when it started its motion. And its motion is a scalar quantity.
- And Velocity changes due to changes in its direction therefore it becomes 2V.
Hence After completing half the circle, the change in its velocity and speed will be 2V, Zero respectively.
